Care & Treatment Division

Risk Reduction Services Re-Entry Services Education Chaplaincy

The Care & Treatment Division is a part of the Education and Programs Division of the Georgia Department of Corrections, as well as a collaborative partner with the Governor's Office of Transition, Support, and Re-Entry.

Our mission is to increase public safety and reduce recidivism rates through case management, delivering evidence based programming, and utilizing effective intervention practices.

These programs are part of the Performance Incentive Credit Program through the Parole Board.

In 2014, Floyd County Corrections saw a 500% increase in the total number of successful program completions as compared to 2010.

We accounted for 56% of all program enrollments at County CI's according to SCRIBE reports.

The FIRE Program is a re-entry intervention program focused on inmates that will be returning citizens of Floyd, Chattooga, Polk, Haralson, Bartow, or Gordon counties

The vision is to transform lives from offender to resident status where essential life skills are taught, vocational training and employment are obtained, consequently proving an opportunity for participants to become a contributing member of the community.
