“Readyfest: are you ready for a crisis?”

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia is teaming up with the Floyd County Emergency Management Office and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency to host a community preparedness event designed to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities. This event is part of the 8th Annual National Preparedness Month activities that are held every September, and officially sponsored by the Ready Campaign and Citizen Corps

The Master of Ceremony will be FOX 5 Chief Meteorologist Ken Cook. We will have special guest speakers from a number of agencies to include the County, State and Federal Emergency Management Agencies, the National Weather Service, the Red Cross, the Center for Disease Control, and Rome Radio Partners LLC. The event will conclude with a “Question and Answer session” and awarding of door prizes.

Attendees will receive valuable local emergency preparedness information designed to educate them about the types of emergencies that can happen; how to make emergency supply kits; create a family emergency plan; and, how they can support their community’s emergency preparedness efforts.
