Early Voting for the November 3, 2009 election began on October 13, 2009; no reason is required. Early Voting will contunue until Friday, October 30, 2009.
Voters should plan to vote in person at the Floyd County Board of Elections & Registration's Main Office, located at 12 East 4th Avenue, 2nd floor, Monday through Friday, 8:00am until 5:00pm. There will be no voting Monday (November 2nd) prior to the election. To vote by mail, any Floyd County voter may request a vote-by-mail ballot, no reason is required.
If the voter has moved, changed their name, etc. they should check their voter status with us now. If the voter hasn’t voted in 3 years they should check to see if they are still a registered voter in Floyd County.
Confirmation cards were mailed this year. If the voter received this card and did not reply, it’s possible their name will be placed on the inactive list and later purged if they do nothing. The last date to make any changes or register to vote in this election was October 5, 2009 – 5:00pm.
**If a registered voter has not voted in the past 3 years or responded to the confirmation card, it is possible that the voter will be purged from the records—meaning that they will not be eligible to vote. Voters may call the Elections and Registration office to verify their status.**
VOTER PRECINCT LOCATION CHANGE
The East Rome Precinct has changed from the 2nd Avenue Baptist Church to the Floyd County Health Department – 16 East 12 Street.
If a voter resides within the city limit, they will have the City Commissioners race, the City School Board and the SPLOST question on the ballot. If they are a county voter, they will only have the SPLOST question on the ballot.
