Rome, Ga. -  Jennifer Lowery has scheduled two fundraisers for the animals at the Floyd County Animal Shelter this weekend. This is Jennifer’s fourth straight year coordinating events and has raised over $4000 for the purchase of several items to make the shelter more comfortable for the animals housed there.

Some items paid for by Lowery’s efforts are Kuranda beds which are in every dog cage, off site adoption equipment like portable cages for cats and exercise pens for dogs, as well as grooming supplies and rabies shots.

The first event Jennifer has planned is a lemonade stand at East Rome Kroger on Friday, July 30 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The second fundraiser will be a car wash at the West Rome Bruster’s location on Saturday, July 31 from 11:00 am until 1:00pm. You may also make donation arraignments by calling (706) 506-8354 and speaking with Chris Lowery.

“In this economic environment Jennifer has been quite the boost our shelter animals need for a lot of necessary items that were not budgeted for,” said Jason Broome, Shelter Manager. “We are pleased that her compassion for homeless animals has helped us provide for a better environment here at the shelter. We will be using the proceeds from this fundraiser to purchase outdoor kennels and vaccines. She has been an inspiration to me personally over the past 4 years and is one of our community’s brightest assets.”
