The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency has partnered with Love joy Baptist Church to offer the (20) hour CERT course to the citizens of Rome and Floyd County. Training dates and location are as follows:

 
June 12, 2010 9am – 4 pm    Lovejoy Baptist Church, 436 Branham Ave Rome, 
                                                      GA 30161
July 10, 2010 8a – 12              Rome Fire Department Training Center
 
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to educate citizens about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their community and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
“Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional first responders are not immediately available to help,” said Floyd County EMA Director Scotty Hancock
