JOB SUMMARY:The purpose of this job is to process biweekly payrolls for the Floyd County Commission, maintain accurate records, and prepare related statistical reports. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing goals and priorities, preparing payroll changes, compiling data, prepare required accounts payable payments, payroll taxes and other additional tasks as assigned.

 MAJOR DUTIES:Prepares Bi-weekly payroll and process pay checks through direct deposit process and post notices online, ensures accurate and timely submission of payroll taxes, calculates and responds to request for garnishments, levies, and child support agencies and serves employee levies. Compiles all payroll data provided by Kronos and edit sheets from Human Resources Technician. Assist internal and external auditors by preparing work financial papers and schedules. Prepares and balances required bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including W-2 forms, federal, state, and other payroll related reports; submits reports to the appropriate agencies. Prepares transmittal of W-2 forms. Performs all duties as assigned.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates or Vocational degree in Accounting or related field; supplemented by two 14.510processing, payroll taxes, Accounts Payable, general accounting and computer skills related to required job functions; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must work cooperatively with others. Regular and predictable attendance is required, may be required to work on Religious Holidays and weekends. Familiarity with Munis Payroll System and Employee Self Service is a plus.
