JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this classification is to perform complex administrative work in support of Juvenile Court activities with the Permanent Homes For Children Citizen Panel Review Program.
MAJOR DUTIES: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Establishes client files; types and/or composes correspondence from handwritten reports and forms; retrieves court orders pertaining to each case to ensure receipt of all relevant documentation from Department of Family & Children’s Services; creates case files for volunteers to conduct pre-review of cases prior to and/or during review.
Coordinates recruiting and training of volunteers serving on Citizens Panel Review panel; recruits new volunteers and conducts criminal background checks; compiles list of prospective panel members; sets up training for prospective panel members; reserves/secures location for training activities; coordinates training dates/times with Council of Juvenile Court Judges staff, Judge, and Department of Family & Children’s Services management; notifies prospective members of training dates and locations; coordinates ongoing training activities and maintains training records; maintains current list of volunteers and contact information. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in office administration and personal computer operations; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving office administration, personal computer operations, record/file maintenance, and customer service; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain valid State of Georgia Notary Public certification. BENEFITS: NONE
