This position is responsible for assisting marketing efforts utilizing all forms of media to promote Rome and Floyd County.  Assist with creating marketing collateral, web site maintenance, coordinating social media, building video and photography files, and fulfilling media requests.  Coordinate with the Director of Communications and collaborate with marketing and sales professionals. Create, deliver, edit and optimize print and web marketing materials. Coordinate social media outreach on multiple social media sites. Develop video content for web-based delivery. Create and deliver press releases, email newsletter content, social media content and blog content. Assist in updating web content. Manage and update online calendars; track media coverage. Assist staff and volunteers with any and all aspects of tourism and public image of Rome and Floyd County. Coordinate community efforts for recruitment of group sales. Solicit business through direct mail, phone calls, e-mail and personal appointments. Present bid packages to group sales planners. Generate individual leads for all aspects of group sales. Work Schedule: M-F w/some evenings/weekends/holidays; 9am–5:00pm; Full-time w/benefits; Non-Exempt.

Work Experience Requirements:

•Proficient in WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign; videography and photography of settings, events, commercial uses and people.

•Knowledge of history, services, and upcoming events in Floyd County.

•Knowledge of advertising industries; proficient on all major social media platforms.

•Proficient in oral and written communications.

•Design and publication layout skills.

•Have the ability to multi task and work under multiple deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:

•Must have an Associate’s Degree in Marketing or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in marketing/communications/sales.

•Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from state of residency and a vehicle for local travel.  Cost of travel will be reimbursed at a rate adopted by the Rome City Commission. Willingness to be available for evening and weekend work as needed.

•Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
