JOB SUMMARY:
This unclassified position reports directly to the County Manager. The Assistant County Manager performs a wide variety of professional administrative duties in assisting the County Manager in managing the operations and affairs of the County. This employee performs activities that cover the direct administration functions as well as administrative, technical, and advisory duties concerning all County related functions. This employee supervises all County and County related activities in the absence of the County Manager and makes recommendations to the County Manager about the development of administrative policy, long range planning, public relations, employee relations, organizational staffing and overall coordination of activities involving all County departments. This employee conducts studies and performs analysis on budget matters, operational activities. Any other duties that may be assigned by the County Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in public administration or a related field is required. Master’s degree in public administration or a related field is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience of increasing responsibility in local government, plus two years of management/supervisory experience. Must possess a valid State of Georgia driver’s license. Must be willing to locate to Floyd County within six (6) months of hire date.

- INCENTIVE PAY: Certified Public Safety Employees are provided up to $1,500 additional compensation per year for
completion of approved coursework from a regionally accredited college or university.
- LONGEVITY PAY: Pays 1, 2, or 3 percent of salary plus $50 per year depending on years of service.
