Description: JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this classification is to perform specialized/administrative work functions associated with worker's compensation, property and liability insurance, substance abuse prevention, and accident investigation and prevention.
MAJOR DUTIES: Coordinates and implements worker's compensation, safety, and loss control programs for the County. Conducts annual safety audits with IRMA and loss prevention audits and inspections; makes on-site visits to assess/ensure compliance with applicable policies/procedures; identifies potential hazards and makes recommendations. Attends monthly Accident Review Board meetings and recommends safety policies, procedures and practices; assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures. Coordinates worker's compensation activities; files county workers compensation, auto accident, and general liability claims; obtains first reports of accident/injury; processes claims and follows up on status of each incident; maintains files and records. Attends worker's compensation hearings as required. Coordinates all county liability insurance issues. Maintains/edits property, automobiles, and equipment schedules with IRMA. The Director of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the general administration of the Department and for carrying out the policies recommended by the Authority when approved by the appropriate governing body. In conjunction with the County and City Managers, the Parks and Recreation Director shall be the agent of the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority and to that end shall supervise the operation of all the Department’s activities.

Performs general housekeeping, painting, and grounds keeping duties as specified by the Operations Supervisor. Assures current WWTP process status is communicated to the Chief Operator and other involved persons; and assists in assuring minimum staffing requirements are met. Other duties as assigned.
