Description: This position is responsible for processing requisitions, placing orders, soliciting quotes and acquiring equipment and materials within city codes and other published guidelines. Reviews the electronic requisition file daily to insure prompt processing and order placement for all departments including services, equipment, materials and solicit verbal and written quotes as necessary. Assists city departments in assessing needs, determining appropriate vendors for requests of services, equipment or repairs. Administers, manages and coordinates the auto fleet pool. Performs various tasks to post bid documents on the City website. This activity may include conceptual writing, organizing and proof reading. Performs clerical duties and answers phone and checks the mail daily as required. Also performs other clerical tasks and buying activities in the absence of co-workers.
