Howard “Buzz” Wachsteter was appointed to the Rome City Commission in December 2001 to fill an unexpired term. Prior to assuming office, he served on several committees and commissions of the City of Rome as a citizen volunteer. He has served as a member of almost
all committees of the City Commission throughout his tenure as Commissioner. He was selected by his fellow Commissioners to serve as Mayor Pro-Tem and he is a member of the Circle of Excellence of the Georgia Municipal Association, the highest honor for training given by GMA. He has been asked by GMA to testify before committees of the Georgia General Assembly and currently serves as an active participant of that organization’s Transportation Policy Committee.
Mr. Wachsteter and his wife, Paula, live in the East Rome area and have three children
