This position is responsible for the inspection of all equipment, grounds, and buildings of the City’s Water Reclamation Facilities (Blacks Bluff and Coosa WRF facilities) and, coordinating and assisting in repairs as needed to maintain the facilities.  Inspects and coordinates repairs and maintenance to all WRF appurtenances used to decontaminate wastewater by screening, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion and dewatering at all wastewater treatment facilities.   Assists in the repair and maintenance of equipment, buildings, and grounds in order to accomplish tasks in a safe, effective and efficient manner.  Inspects all equipment for noise, vibrations, belt adjustment, alignment, bearing lubrication, fluid levels, and proper operating temperature.  Reads and interprets maintenance and repair records, reports, charts, blue prints, all types of meters and gauges, and noise and vibration monitors.  Trains maintenance and operations staffs in equipment performance monitoring and inspection.  Maintains records of all equipment inspections, lubrication, adjustment and repairs.  Assists in assuring minimum staffing requirements are met.  Essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed.  Employees will be required to perform other job related duties as assigned.

Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must have experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of maintenance personnel in order to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years of experience or service.

Must be able to comprehend service manuals, technical diagrams, and blue prints.

Must possess or be able to obtain a GAWP Class III Maintenance Technologist certification and a Georgia Class III Wastewater Operator certification within one year of employment.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from state of residency.

Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
