Certified with less than 1 year exp. - $39,000

Certified with more than 1 year exp. - $40,000

Work Schedule:

24 Hour Shift-24 hrs. on; 48 hrs. off; Non-exempt; full-time with benefits

General Description:

This position is responsible for protecting lives and property endangered by fire and other emergency situations such as hazardous materials leaks, etc. Suppress fires utilizing firefighting techniques such as nozzle operation, directing fire stream, and building ventilation. Respond to other emergency situations using specialized techniques as required by the emergency and as directed by the supervisor. Participate in various training activities as required by departmental and state requirements. Administer first aid and CPR as requires. Perform routine housekeeping and maintenance activities as assigned.  Employees will be required to perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certified w/ less than 1 yr. experience

A.    Must be a State Certified Firefighter under requirements set forth by the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council (FFI, HAZO, CPR/AED)

B.     Minimum of six months of uninterrupted fulltime fire service experience as a sworn firefighter with a paid professional fire department.

Certified w/ more than 1 yr. experience

A.    Must be a State Certified Firefighter under requirements set forth by the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council (FFI, HAZO, CPR/AED)

B.     Minimum of 1 year experience as a fulltime certified Firefighter with a paid professional fire department.
