JOB SUMMARY: Report game results to the Recreation Department, maintain records, time sheets and incident reports; respond to public inquiries regarding Softball and other programs. In addition, this position will enforce the Parks & Recreation Authority rules and regulations and will provide a high level of customer service for patrons of RFPRA. The Softball Umpire may be required to work Sundays, weekends or holidays. MAJOR DUTIES: The Softball Umpire shall:
• Implements and enforces league rules and RFPRA policies
• Report game results to the Sports Coordinator
• Provide a safe environment for participants and spectators
• Respond quickly to any emergencies
• Prevent accidents and injuries and report unsafe situations or conditions to the Sports Coordinator.
• Wear the designated umpire uniform
• Provide a high level of customer service for recreation program participants
• Attend required staff meetings as needed
• Report necessary documents associated with incidents or unusual situations which arise during the program to the Sports Coordinator
• Complete other duties as assigned
• Must be able to respond and react to an emergency in an effective manner 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Complete knowledge of softball rules and the league’s “special” ground rules
• Ability to maintain accurate records, enforce regulations and policies to the visiting public
• Ability to work with difficult people in a competitive setting
• One-year experience working as a sanctioned umpire of a softball program is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds, change bases and provide emergency field maintenance as needed  BENEFITS: N/A
