JOB SUMMARY: Report game results to the Recreation Department, maintain records, time sheets and incident reports; respond to public inquiries regarding Baseball and other programs. In addition, this position will enforce the Parks & Recreation Authority rules and regulations and will provide a high level of customer service for patrons of RFPRD. The Baseball Umpire may be required to work Sundays, weekends or holidays. MAJOR DUTIES: The Baseball Umpire shall:
• Implements and enforces league rules and RFPRA policies
• Report game results to the Sports Coordinator
• Provide a safe environment for participants and spectators
• Respond quickly to any emergencies
• Prevent accidents and injuries and report unsafe situations or conditions to the Sports Coordinator.
• Wear the designated umpire uniform
• Provide a high level of customer service for recreation program participants
• Attend required staff meetings as needed
• Report necessary documents associated with incidents or unusual situations which arise during the    program to the Sports Coordinator
• Complete other duties as assigned
• Must be able to respond and react to an emergency in an effective manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Minimum age requirement 18
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
• Possess a firm foundation in the fundamental rules of baseball
• Ability to physically meet the requirements of mobility for a baseball  umpire for a minimum of 3 hours
• Ability to work with children in a positive environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism
