Rome Landfill

The City of Rome Walker Mountain Landfill at 433 Walker Mountain Road.

The Walker Mountain Landfill operates on a 6 day work schedule. All of your waste (household waste, yard waste and Construction Debris will be accepted at the landfill at the following times and Days:

Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
Saturday 8am – 2pm
Sunday - Closed

(The landfill closes at 4 pm Mon- Friday the gate closes at 4 and you must be in & out of the Landfill by 4 pm, and 2 pm on Saturday)

Items accepted at the Landfill are:

Household garbage: furniture, Clothing, Toys, etc...
Construction Debris: Wood, Shingles, sheetrock, carpet etc...
Inert material: Limbs, leaves, brick, sticks

Materials NOT accepted at the Landfill:

Inert material mixed with household garbage or C&D material) Inert must be brought in on a load by itself.

Also NOT accepted at the landfill: Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, liquids, paint, batteries, asbestos or tires ON the rim, and any material from outside of Floyd County

All loads MUST BE COVERED with a tarp and secured until you reach the area in which you are dumping.

At this time, the Landfill only accepts Cash or Check as payment. We are working to add a Credit Card payment option in the future. We do not accept $100.00 dollar bills
