Rome-Floyd Planning Department Seeks Public Input on 2040 Rome-Floyd Cave Spring Comprehensive Plan
By Artagus Newell
The Rome-Floyd Planning Department announces a series of public workshops to gain community input on the 2040 Rome-Floyd Cave Spring Comprehensive Plan.
The comprehensive plan serves as an overall guidebook for community growth and development including housing, transportation, land-use, economic development, and other areas as warranted or desired by the community.
The State of Georgia requires communities with permit-issuing authorities to update their comprehensive land-use plan every ten years. The governing authorities may implement policies that stem from the comprehensive plan to help execute the vision identified in the plan.
The planning department is holding several public kick-off meetings. The meetings will introduce the citizens to the plan, the process and expected outcomes. Additionally, community members will meet planning department staff and the consultants working on the plan.
Following the kick-off meetings, the planning department will host public outreach meetings to engage community input on development, housing, transportation, land-use and other plan elements.
